Corner Concert Series

Meg and Sara Liptak will perform at the Corner Concert Series on Friday. The duo also performed during the concert series last year.
“You will be blessed by their harmonies and musical abilities,” said Steve Albert, concert organizer. He also encouraged attendees to bring a chair, family members and a donation for the CAST Theatre.
The weekly Corner Concert Series was established to help raise money and awareness for local community projects. This year’s donations will be received for the CAST Theatre, a small, live stage that spotlights local talent throughout the year.
The concerts take place at 7 p.m. Friday nights at Shaw Park. It’s located on the corner of East Market and Front streets in downtown Clearfield.

11th Annual Triathlon
Treasure Lake

On Saturday, June 28, the DuBois YMCA and staff Treasure Lake will host the 11th annual triathlon. The race will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Bimini Beach with a half-mile swim, a 9.3-mile bike ride around Bimini Lake followed by a 4-mile run.
There will also be a half-marathon taking place at the same time following the same course. This race usually runs for about 3.5-4 hours.
It begins at the boat launch and takes Basse Terre to Caribbean Road. Competitors will make a left onto Bay Road from Caribbean and head toward the back gate, where they will exit and make a loop to re-enter into the community.
They will continue on Bay Road and make a right onto Anguilla; from there they will continue on Anguilla past the stables and head back to the boat launch area.

The second-ever Bloom and Berry Bash will feature some great food and live entertainment, as well as opportunities to enjoy the river and to spend time in downtown Clearfield.
The summer bash will be hosted by the Clearfield Revitalization Corp. (CRC) on June 28. It will kick-off at 10 a.m. with vendors lining Market and Third streets.
More than 60 talented artisans will feature work, ranging from ceramics, fiber, wood, leather and metalwork to jewelry, glass, photography and mixed-media art pieces.
There will also be great food to enjoy and live entertainment provided by Guitarnia. Music will begin at 11 a.m. in front of the Courthouse and will continue with local bands Twin Reverb followed by Shrapnel, beginning at 2:30 p.m.
The CRC will also hold a Rubber Duck Derby. Each rubber duck will race its way downriver to the finish line and carry a unique number corresponding to the number on one of the purchased tickets.
Each ticket costs $5 and will earn its holder one duck in the race. The ducks are awaiting the chance to be the first across the finish line to win their ticket holder a $500 cash prize.
Ticket holders do not need to be present to win. Only 500 tickets will be sold and the first 100 children at the race will receive a souvenir rubber duck.

A Fashion Show “Auction” will be held from 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the St. Charles Café.
The Clearfield clothing and jewelry merchants will sponsor some of their 2014 lines at the event. These items will be modeled by children.
The purpose of the event is not to bid on the clothing worn by the child model. Instead, attendees will bid on one of the larger prizes that are in an envelope and hidden in a child’s accessory.
All of the child models will carry a prize. For example, one prize for bid will be a trip to New York City sponsored by the Fullington Bus Co.
To attend, there will be a $10 fee, which includes a wine tasting and a light snack.
