DUBOIS – On Monday night, the DuBois City Council voted to approve a resolution and an agreement with the Haven House Shelter.
Council authorized applying for an Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) on behalf of the Haven House. The grant application will be in the amount of $80,095; the Haven House will be responsible for required matching funds.
The Haven House project started in October of 2006 to serve as an emergency shelter for the area’s homeless individuals. Individuals or families referred to the Haven House for assistance can stay in the shelter for up to 30 days, so as long as guidelines are followed.
Council members Randy Schmidt and Edward Walsh were both excused from the meeting.
