James R. ‘Jim’ Catherman Jr., 54, of Clearfield died Monday, June 16, 2014 at Pawley’s Island, SC.
He was born Sept. 22, 1959, a son of James R. Catherman Sr. and Carol (Nelson) Catherman of Clearfield. He owned and operated J&E Plumbing and Heating Inc. of Clearfield.
He was serving as the exalted ruler of the Clearfield Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge No. 540.
He was also a member of the St. John Lutheran Church, Clearfield, the Punxsutawney Hunting Club, the Old Town Sportsmen’s Club and the Sons of Italy Lodge No. 189, Clearfield. He loved going to camp, riding his snowmobile and his pontoon boat. He also enjoyed golfing.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Tami S. (Thomas) Catherman, whom he wed Oct. 15, 1977 in Clearfield; three sons, James R. ‘Jas’ Catherman III and his wife, Kathy and Tanner J. Catherman and his wife, Kristen both of Clearfield and Jeremy R. Catherman and his wife, Erin of Treasure Lake.
He’s also survived by two brothers, Edward Catherman and his wife, Susan and David Catherman and his wife, Kimberly, both of Clearfield, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family with a public memorial service to be announced at a later date.
Burial will be in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge No. 540, 301 N. Second St., Clearfield, or to the charity of one’s choice.
