PHILIPSBURG – A 58-year-old man was taken into custody on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person and harassment after an alleged incident involving a knife in the early morning hours Thursday on North 10th Street in Philipsburg Borough.
According to the state police at Philipsburg, the man and the victim, a 23-year-old man, engaged in an argument over an eviction notice. During the argument, the man allegedly brandished a knife and started to stab at the victim.
The man allegedly made “slight contact” with the knife one time, causing a small superficial laceration in the victim’s abdominal area. The man also allegedly threatened to kill the victim who escaped the residence without further injury or incident, state police said.
