CLEARFIELD – On June 5-6, the first digital projector was installed at the Ritz Theater in downtown Clearfield.
On the evening of June 5, viewers got their first taste of the Dolby sound and digital projection during the installation team’s trial run of Godzilla. The first movie to come in digital will be “X-Men.”
On June 6, Bob Knepp, theater owner, and his staff, received demonstrations on the new digital projection equipment.
The “Save the Ritz” Committee would like to thank Clearfield community members for their constant and generous support of the theater, said Pamela Babick, committee chair.
“We are half way to our goal and will be doing many fundraisers in the next year to get the second theater equipped with a digital projector,” said Babick. “We hope that you will continue to support our cause.”
There will be a celebration held at the theater for a demonstration of the new equipment. Further details will be released at a later date, said Babick.
