LOCK HAVEN – As most Lock Haven University seniors were preparing for graduation, there were 10 outstanding young Americans also swearing an oath of office and taking the final step to commissioning as Second Lieutenants in the U.S. Army.
The ceremony took place in the Durrwachter Alumni Conference Center among family and friends that were also involved in the ceremony. The recently commissioned Second Lieutenants are April Ferry, Joseph Fiasco, Brian Kelly, Cody Newsome, Eric Redmond, Daniel Ruiz, Madeline Ruiz, Christopher Sefter, Zachary Thorne and Dana Wozniak.
These young men and women are among the newest leaders in the military representing both the Active Army and Reserve Component (Army Reserves and National Guard).
The guest speaker, Brigadier General Wilbur E. Wolf, deputy commanding general maneuver, 28th Infantry Division Pennsylvania Army National Guard, offered words of encouragement and sage guidance for these young men and women, as they prepare to begin their careers in the U.S. Army.
