Christina A. “Tina” Caruso, 87, of Penfield died Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Christ the King Manor.
Born June 26, 1926 in Scalp Level, she was the daughter of the late Patsy and Jennie (Guido) Georgino.
On June 28, 1947, she married Dominic “Rob” Caruso. He preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 1990.
She worked for the U.S. Postal Service as the postmaster in Tyler for many years. In her later years, she was a bookkeeper for Penn Traffic Company for 12 years.
She was a member of the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Force, where she served as Eucharistic Minister and was active in many church activities. She was a volunteer at the former Maple Avenue Hospital.
She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She was known for carrying herself with dignity and class, as well as being an extraordinary Italian cook.
She is survived by three children, Marianne Kramer and her husband, Francis of Pittsburgh, Robert Caruso and his wife, Paula of Harrisburg and Richard Caruso and his wife, Donna of Farmington, Conn.; two sisters, JoAnn Zartman and her husband, Les of DuBois, and Carmella Menke and her husband, William of Grants Pass, Ore.; six grandchildren, Robert Kramer, Ashley Kramer Kinzler, Anthony Caruso, Amanda Leao, Kaitlin Caruso and Kristina Caruso and four great-grandchildren, Dominic Caruso, Barrett Kinzler, Grant Kinzler and Ariana Leao.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Anthony, Donald, Richard and Patsy Georgino.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Force with the Rev. Fr. Thomas Tyler as celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Force.
