Lois M. Blake, 93, of Philipsburg died Sunday, Mary 25, 2014 at Windy Hill Village in Philipsburg.
Born April 25, 1921 in Tyrone, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Minnie (Magill) Morrissey. She married William W. “Toad” Blake on Aug. 4, 1941 in Tyrone; he preceded her in death on July 13, 1995.
Mrs. Blake was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Philipsburg. She loved cooking, gardening, volunteering in her church and spending time with her family. She was a homemaker and mother.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Robert Wilson Blake; a great-grandson, Patrick Rishel; four brothers; and five sisters.
Mrs Blake is survived by, three daughters, Sandra Pinto and her fiancé, Don Cartwright of Houtzdale, Joyce Christman and her husband, Chuck of Lewistown and Margaret Sanders and her husband, Richard of Loganton; two sons, William Blake of Geneseo, NY and Don Blake and his wife, Jill of Philipsburg; a sister, Hannah Isenburg of Tyrone; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home in Philipsburg, with the Rev. Samuel G. Strohm officiating. Burial will be at the Philipsburg Cemetery in Philipsburg.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
