MAHAFFEY – The Mahaffey Center for Active Living is partnering with the Hillsdale Rehabilitation and Nursing Center to sponsor the Mahaffey Health Fair to be held at the Mahaffey Fire Hall on Tuesday from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Information will be provided on living wills and health insurance. Other activities include free notary work, fall risk assessment, summer crafts and blood sugar testing and diabetes information.
The Mahaffey Center for Active Living offers educational programs on nutrition, health care, personal safety, identity theft and scams. They also provide Healthy Steps in Motion, free blood pressure and blood glucose checks and stroke screenings in addition to opportunities for socialization and recreation, intergenerational activities and volunteer opportunities. A nutritious hot meal is served daily.
There are no reservations needed for the health fair. However, those interested in having lunch at the center are asked to call the day before to make a meal reservation. Any Clearfield County individual 60 years of age or older may contribute to the cost of the meal on a donation basis. The cost to those under age 60 is $3.50.
