David J. Ballute, 75, of Curwensville died Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
He was the husband to the late Charlene (Hauck) Ballute, whom died in November of 2010.
Born Dec. 8, 1938 in Clearfield, he was the son of the late Edward G. and Mary K. (Rakoven) Ballute.
Mr. Ballute was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was employed with Clearfield Cheese as a fork lift operator until his retirement. He was a member of St Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church, Curwensville.
He was also a member of the VFW, American Legion and the Smokehouse, all of Curwensville. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and collecting stamps.
Surviving are a daughter and son, Tammy Coudriet and her fiancé, Russ McKenrick of Midland, Texas and Doug Ballute of Punxsutawney; a son-in-law, James Dunn of Olanta; four grandchildren, Steven Dunn, Brandon Sass, Janelle Wallace and John Coudriet II; and a brother, Joseph Ballute of DuBois.
He was preceded in death by his wife and parents; a daughter, Sonya Ballute; and two brothers, Edward Ballute Jr. and Raymond Ballute.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of David J. Ballute will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home Inc., Clearfield.
A time to share memories and have an opportunity to view will be held from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Karthaus.
