State police at Clearfield

• An incident of criminal trespass occurred Thursday on Eagle Eye Road in Boggs Township. Further, a 29-year-old Bigler man allegedly trespassed onto the victim’s posted property. Charges were filed against the man through the district court.
• An incident of retail theft occurred Friday at the Snappy’s Convenience Store in Houtzdale Borough. Further, a known 14-year-old juvenile allegedly stole Pop Tarts and cookies from the store. Charges were filed against the juvenile as a result of the incident.
• An incident of criminal mischief occurred Saturday on Spruce Street in Bigler Township. During the incident, a 47-year-old Madera woman and the victim engaged in a verbal altercation. The woman allegedly damaged the hood of the victim’s vehicle, which was witnessed by several others in the area. Charges were filed against the woman through the district court.
• A hit-and-run accident occurred Sunday along state Route 2039 in Cooper Township. Further, the operator of the suspect vehicle was traveling east when they lost control in a right-hand curve for unknown reasons. The suspect vehicle traveled off the north shoulder and struck a Honda Civic, which was parked and unoccupied in a private driveway. After impact the operator fled the scene; the accident remains under investigation at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
• A single-vehicle accident occurred Sunday on SR 729 at its intersection with Ball Hallow Road in Glen Hope. Samuel A. Troxell, 19, of Glasgow was traveling eastbound when he failed to negotiate a left-hand curve in the roadway. He overcompensated, which caused his vehicle to overturn. Troxell was ejected from the vehicle and sustained a head injury; he was transported to Altoona by ambulance. Justin E. Kephart, 19, of Irvona, a passenger, sustained minor injuries as a result of the accident. State police noted further investigation determined alcohol and speeding to be factors in the accident.
• An incident of theft occurred May 13 on Mink Road in Morris Township. During the incident, a 22-year-old Morrisdale man and a 17-year-old Philipsburg boy allegedly removed several strands of dragline cable from a strip mine. It’s valued at $3,200, state police said. The accused then took the cable to a local scrap yard for compensation. Charges are to be filed through the district court.
• An incident of criminal mischief occurred sometime Friday or Saturday in the 100 block of Stronach Road in Grampian Borough. During the incident, someone damaged the victim’s vehicle by breaking out several windows. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
• A single-vehicle accident involving an ambulance occurred Sunday on the Philipsburg – Bigler Highway in Boggs Township. The ambulance was traveling eastbound when it struck a deer in its lane of travel. The ambulance sustained moderate damage to its front end area. No injuries were reported as a result of the accident.
• An incident of DUI occurred Sunday in the area of SR 879 and SR 970 in Goshen Township. Further, a 22-year-old Woodland man was stopped for several traffic violations, as well as for failing to stop at a posted sign and nearly colliding with the patrol vehicle. During the traffic stop, state police found the operator was impaired and he was subsequently arrested for suspected DUI. State police noted that a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia were also located in the man’s possession. Charges were filed through the district court.
• An all-terrain vehicle accident occurred Sunday on Lecontes Mills Road at its intersection with Gillingham Road in Girard Township. Further, Thomas B. Heath, 51, of Sevens Valleys was traveling eastbound on Gillingham Road when he lost control of his ATV for unknown reasons. His ATV subsequently overturned, and he was ejected from the same. Heath sustained major injuries and was flown to Altoona. The extent of Heath’s injuries was unknown, state police said.

State police at DuBois

• On Saturday, a Battle Creek, Mich. man was stopped for a vehicle code violation on Interstate 80 eastbound at the exit 101 off-ramp in Sandy Township. State police determined the man was in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. The man was subsequently arrested on drug charges.

State police at Philipsburg

• An incident of criminal mischief occurred Friday at the Philipsburg-Osceola High School parking lot. During the incident, someone damaged a 2004 Chrysler Sebring by keying the paint on both sides. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Philipsburg at 814-342-3370.
• On Thursday, state police found a glass smoking bowl with marijuana residue located inside a woman’s vehicle in the 100 block of Buckhorn Road.
• State police at Philipsburg received an investigation request from the Pennsylvania State Police Firearms Division in Harrisburg. The investigation request involved a Pennsylvania Instant Check System (PICS) rejection that occurred at Belding & Mull Inc. on Dec. 7, 2013 in Rush Township. Further, state police indicated a convicted felon had attempted to purchase a handgun; the incident remains under investigation at this time.

State police at Ridgway

• Moderate injuries were reported after a motorcycle accident Saturday on Gardner Hill Road in Fox Township. Mark A. Stafford of Ridgway was traveling westbound when he failed to negotiate a right-hand curve. He crossed into the eastbound lane and traveled approximately 39 feet before exiting the roadway. Stafford continued traveling for approximately 36 feet, at which point his motorcycle struck a tree. After impact he continued traveling in a southwest direction for approximately 45 feet to a final rest. He was wearing a motorcycle helmet at the time of the accident. Stafford was cited for driving vehicle at safe speed and other vehicle code violations.
• An accident occurred Sunday on River Road in Millstone Township. Further, a vehicle was traveling westbound when it slid off the right side of the roadway while the operator attempted to negotiate a right-hand turn. The vehicle slid into some brush, which caused minor damage to its passenger’s side. Towing services pulled the vehicle back onto the roadway for it to be driven from the scene. The operator was wearing his seatbelt and didn’t sustain any injuries. The operator was cited for the accident.
• No injuries were reported after an accident Saturday on Irishtown Road in Fox Township. Garrett A. Frederoski, 20, of St. Marys was traveling eastbound when his vehicle started to skid out of control. It subsequently entered a ditch on the right side of the roadway and struck a tree before overturning onto its driver’s side. State police were assisted at the scene by the Fox Township Fire Department and towing services.

Lawrence Township

• Police investigated an incident of harassment that occurred at the Clearfield Middle School.
• Police received a report about an alleged drunken motorist traveling along U.S. Route 322 westbound into the township. Police located the motorist and found them to be OK.
• Police have initiated an investigation into the theft of a cellular phone and an iPod from the CMS.
• Police received a report about a horse being on the roadway at the intersection of Paradise School Road and the Rockton Mountain Highway. Upon arrival police found the horse’s owner had secured it.
• Police receive a report about a student who boarded the wrong school bus at the Clearfield Elementary School. The child was located on the other bus, and the matter was resolved, police said.
• Police received a report about an incident of harassment and disorderly conduct that occurred at the Clearfield High School. Further, police reported that a 16-year-old girl was allegedly being harassed by a male student. While waiting for the bus after school, the male allegedly took a lighter from his pocket and lit the victim’s hair on fire. The victim’s father, police said, planned to contact the school to address the incident with the administration. The incident remains under investigation.
• Police received a report about a vehicle lockout at Sheetz. The vehicle was unlocked without incident.
• Clearfield Borough police were assisted with an incident on West Side.
• Police received a report about a possible stolen vehicle.
• Police received a report about an accidental alarm at a local business.
• Police received a report about a domestic disturbance and handled the incident at the scene.
• Police received a report about a child who was throwing rocks at vehicles along the Rockton Mountain Highway. The child, however, was gone prior to police arrival.
• Police received a report about a hit-and-run accident in Glen Richey. Further, police located the suspect and he was arrested for DUI. Charges are currently pending at this time.
• Police received a report about an incident of loitering and prowling in Hillsdale.

Curwensville Borough

• Police reported that two students will be cited for possessing tobacco on school property.
• Police received a report about an alleged incident of open lewdness.
• Police reported that a Curwensville resident will be issued citations after an incident at the Curwensville Elementary School. Further, a known female allegedly acted disorderly in the elementary office and then left the area operating her vehicle in a careless manner.
