It is the 75th anniversary of All American Aviation’s zigzag mail service to Clearfield County. The Clearfield County Historical Society will present a special exhibit on the Airmail Pick-up Service during this summer season.
The exhibit will include a mail container used in the pick-ups, photos of an All-American Aviation Plane making a pick-up, newspaper clippings and books on the service and maps of the original routes flown.
On Saturday, May 17, there will be a fly-in at the Clearfield-Lawrence Township Airport. A gall wing plane, similar to the one originally used, will make a mail delivery from Clearfield to DuBois, using the historical society’s old leather airmail bag.

Annual Upper West Branch Triathlon at Curwensville Lake

The Susquehanna Antique Machinery Association will sponsor its annual Spring Gas-up on Saturday and Sunday at the show grounds along U.S. Route 219 near Luthersburg.

DuBois Vocal Arts Ensemble Concert: The Best of Broadway

The Clearfield Chamber of Commerce will host its first-ever “Chamber Challenge” 5K Run/Walk and 15K Run, as well as a Health, Wellness & Fitness Fair on Sunday at the Curwensville Community Center.
Race registration will be held from 8 a.m. until 9 a.m. The 15K run begins at 9:30 a.m., the 5K run at 9:45 a.m. and the 5K walk at 10 a.m. The fee for same-day race registration is $25.
The Health, Wellness & Fitness Fair will begin at 10 a.m. and will remain open until 3 p.m. Any interested vendors will be accepted on Sunday.
There isn’t any cost to attend the Health, Wellness & Fitness Fair. It’s free and open to the public.

100th Anniversary of the Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Building

There will be five lunch specials for just $5 at the Fort Worth Restaurant from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
There will be 35-cent wing night with more than 40 flavors to choose from 4 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the Fort Worth Restaurant and Coyote Joe’s. There will also be $2 Yuengling bottles all day and open mic night with Nick Forsyth at Coyote Joe’s.

Clearfield Writing Community Workshop

The Clearfield Writing Community is dedicated to the avid writers of Clearfield County who are interested in improving their skills, getting tips and information from other writers and getting their work out into the public.
They provide information and educational tools for all serious writers in the area who hope to achieve publication. A Facebook page is established for members to plan meetings and events, post their work, critique others and generally encourage one another to write and create.
You can find the Clearfield Writing Community on Facebook or join a regular workshop every Thursday night from 6:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Market Street Gallery, located at 109 E. Market St. in downtown Clearfield.

Fort Worth and Coyote Joe’s will have pasta night every Thursday with 10 different types of pastas, including chicken alfredo, spaghetti with meatballs, spaghetti with stuffed hot peppers, penne pasta with calamari and mussels in vodka sauce, pasta primavera, penne pasta with hot sausage, chicken cacciatore, stuffed shells florentine, meat lasagna and vegetable lasagna. It is all you can eat for $10.99.
