Melva V. Lumadue, 96, of West Decatur died Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Windy Hill Village, a part of Presbyterian Senior Living.
Born Sept. 22, 1917 in Wallaceton, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Susan (Kline) Kephart.
At Curwensville in December of 1938, she married Lewis George Lumadue, whom died on April 6, 1992.
She is survived by a son, Marvin Lumadue and his wife, Sandra of West Decatur; two sisters, Lena Brown of Curwensville and Marion Swisher of Bigler; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Doris Collins and Martha Lumadue; four sisters, Rose Lumadue, Dwellia Eckley, Madge Dixon and Alfa Kephart and two brothers, Edgar Kephart and Burton Kephart.
She was a homemaker and a member of Salem United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening and quilting.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, 228 N. Centre St., Philipsburg, with the Rev. Ronald J. Beistline officiating. Burial will be in Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
