ALTOONA – Larry E. Smith and Gary T. Williams, both 33 and of Altoona, have been jailed on drug violations, reported the state police at Philipsburg.
Members of the Bureau of Criminal Investigations/North Central Strike Force conducted a six-month investigation into Smith’s and Williams’ distribution of marijuana in and around Altoona. During the investigation, members conducted a number of controlled purchases from Smith and Williams.
On May 8, Smith and Williams were taken into custody, and a search warrant was executed at 1818 15th Ave., Second Floor, Altoona. The search warrant turned up approximately one pound of marijuana, nearly one ounce of cocaine (crack and powder cocaine), $1,990 in U.S. Currency and a stolen semi-automatic pistol.
Smith and Williams were lodged in the Blair County Prison. Bail was set at $450,000 for Smith and $300,000 for Williams, state police said.
