CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. has announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week.
Shaw identified the fugitive as Ethan William McLachlan, 23, of Grandview Road, Curwensville. McLachlan is wanted for failure to appear at a preliminary hearing on April 2.
On Feb. 18, 2014, Officer Julie Curry of the Lawrence Township police filed a criminal complaint against McLachlan. He was charged with retail theft, receiving stolen property, harassment and disorderly conduct.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Feb. 11, police received a report about a theft from a Clearfield business. Upon investigation it was found that McLachlan had concealed several items while inside and then left the business without paying for it. Additionally, when McLachlan was stopped outside by store employees, he became combative and pushed an employee.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for April 2, at which time McLachlan failed to appear and a warrant was issued for his arrest. McLachlan is described as a Caucasian male standing 5 feet, 7 inches tall. He has hazel eyes and brown hair.
Anyone with knowledge of McLachlan’s location is asked to call Clearfield County Crime Stoppers at 800-376-4700. All calls to Crime Stoppers are confidential.
