CLEARFIELD – Officials at the Clearfield County Career & Technology Center (CCCTC) have announced that the Truck Driver Training (TDT) program is now able to offer passenger coach endorsement. With the purchase of a passenger bus, students are now able to obtain passenger bus endorsement on their CDL and can take advantage of becoming a bus driver.
The CCCTC’s Truck Driver Training program began in 1992 when the demand for qualified commercial drivers started to rise. Today, the demand is still growing and the CCCTC regularly receives calls from local and national transportation corporations wanting to hire graduates. The CCCTC’s placement rate is almost 100 percent, according to school officials.
The CCCTC offers both advanced and basic programs through Truck Driver Training, so that tuition and program length can fit into budgets and schedules. All the instructors at the CCCTC are former truck drivers and have a combined mileage record of more than 3 million miles, school officials said.
Doug McClellan (pictured), the CCCTC Truck Driver Training coordinator, said that considering the competitive starting wages, with benefits and minimal additional training time with companies, men and women should consider a career in the TDT program.
CCCTC has several agencies that offer helpful information on funding and we are proud to say that veterans are fully funded. For more information or to schedule a tour, please contact Doug McClellan at 814-765-3453 or dmcclellan@ccctc.org.
