Shirley Taylor, 79, of Boynton Beach, Fla. died Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at the home of her sister, Sandy Foreman, in Philipsburg.
She was the daughter of the late Bruce E. and Pauline F. (Walker) Lape born May 17, 1934 in Somerset. She married Kenneth Taylor on April 28, 1990 in New York, NY; he preceded her in death in 2002.
She was a Methodist by faith. She was employed as an office supervisor with the Morgan Guarantee Trust Co. of New York, NY. She was a 1952 graduate of the Punxsutawney High School.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by two sisters, Sandra L. Foreman and her husband, Bill of Philipsburg and Doris J. Barilar of Lititz; a sister-in-law, Doris Farrel and her husband, Gene of Manasquan, NJ; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Beezer-Heath Funeral Home in Philipsburg, with the Rev. Mark Thurma officiating.
Friends will be received from 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Somerset County Memorial Park, Somerset.
