MILLHEIM – Work to improve a section of Route 45 in Centre County is scheduled to begin on Thursday.
Should wet weather continue, the start of this work may be delayed. When this work is finished, area drivers will enjoy an improved roadway surface and smoother, safer travel.
The work zone will stretch from Aaronsburg to Woodward, with an alternating traffic pattern controlled by flaggers in the roadway. Drivers should expect short travel delays. Work will take place during daylight hours.
This work is part of a $5.1 million contract that began in 2012 to improve the road surface of ten routes in Centre and Clinton counties. Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc. of State College has been the contractor on this project. Work on Route 45 is expected to last into late May.
All work is weather and schedule dependent. Drivers are reminded to be cautious in all work zones, obey posted speed limits, and always buckle up.
