State police at Clearfield

• An accident occurred Friday on Interstate 80 at mile-marker 131 eastbound in Graham Township. Megan K.  Williams, 20, of Clearfield was traveling on I-80 when a deer entered the roadway and into the path of her vehicle. Williams was wearing a seatbelt and sustained only minor lacerations. Williams’ vehicle was towed from the scene.
• An incident of assault/harassment occurred Friday on Clara Street in Woodward Township. During the incident, three people allegedly became involved in a verbal argument, which escalated into a physical altercation in which they grabbed and punched each other. The victim, a Clearfield woman, was allegedly caught in between them and struck in her left cheek area. Charges are to be filed through the district court.
• An incident of harassment occurred Saturday on Myers Road in Graham Township. During the incident, a 23-year-old Morrisdale man allegedly struck the victim and threw her to the ground.
• An incident of criminal mischief occurred Sunday at a residence on Lauder Lane in Girard Township. During the incident, someone drove their vehicle onto the victim’s property and caused damage to their yard. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
• No injuries occurred after a hit-and-run accident Thursday on Main Street in Cooper Township. Justin C. Telford, 22, of Kylertown was traveling westbound when he lost control of his vehicle while negotiating a left-hand curve. His vehicle traveled off the north shoulder and impacted a bridge abutment. After that his vehicle came to a rest just off the north shoulder. However, Telford fled the scene prior to police arrival. On Thursday, Telford contacted state police and admitted to being the operator of the vehicle.  Telford was cited for several summary traffic violations.
• No injuries occurred after a single-vehicle accident Monday on Market Street in Karthaus Township. Larry T. Moore, 65, of Karthaus was traveling eastbound when he lost control of his vehicle. His vehicle traveled into the westbound lane of travel and impacted the guiderail. His vehicle then came to a rest partially in the westbound lane, facing southeast.  Moore was cited for the accident.
• An incident of criminal mischief occurred sometime between Friday and Monday off of Union Street at Beechwood Park in Coalport Borough. During the incident, someone damaged an arch light at the park. Further, they caused approximately $50 worth of damage. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.

State police at Philipsburg

• An incident of suspected DUI occurred Thursday on U.S. Route 322 near Red Oak Lane in Rush Township. Further, a 25-year-old West Decatur man was traveling west when he was observed making an abrupt swerve in and out of the eastbound lanes. Upon investigation the man was taken to the Mount Nittany Medical Center for suspected DUI. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
• An incident of harassment occurred April 17 in the 800 block of Spruce Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, the suspect and the victim allegedly engaged in a verbal argument that turned physical. The suspect allegedly grabbed the victim’s wrist. State police withheld identifying information, as the incident remains under investigation at this time.
• An incident of harassment occurred April 11 in the 200 block of Buttonwood Street in Unionville Borough. During the incident, the suspect(s) allegedly engaged in a verbal argument that turned physical when they pushed each other. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
• An incident of theft occurred April 21 on East Side Lane in Union Township. Further, the victim had a diamond ring in a bowl at her residence and it went missing from it. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
• An incident of public drunkenness occurred Saturday in the area of Skytop Mountain Road and Lion Lane in Huston Township. During the incident, a 21-year-old State College man was allegedly staggering into traffic near the entrance of the End Zone Night Club. Upon arrival state police encountered the man who was under the influence of alcohol. He explained that he’d been drinking at the night club and then got kicked out. When he tried walking home, he got confused as to which direction he needed to walk in. The man was cited for the incident.
• An incident of harassment occurred Sunday on Curtis Street in Philipsburg Borough. Further, a mother and father allegedly engaged in a verbal argument with their daughter, which turned into a physical altercation. The incident remains under investigation at this time.

State police at Ridgway

• An incident of burglary occurred Friday on Dahoga Road in Jones Township. During the incident, a known suspect allegedly entered the victim’s residence and attempted to take several items. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
• An incident of theft occurred sometime Thursday or Friday at the Express Lube in Fox Township. Further, an undetermined amount was taken from four change machines. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Ridgway at 814-776-6136.
• An incident of access device fraud occurred April 16 in Jones Township. Further, the victim reported that someone used his Kohl’s account to make an unauthorized purchase in the amount of $352.47. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
• An incident of public drunkenness occurred Sunday at a Main Street residence in Fox Township. During the incident, a 60-year-old Kersey man was found lying in the grass and under the influence of alcohol. Charges for public drunkenness were filed through the district court.
• An incident of DUI/Act 64 violation occurred Sunday at GetGo in Fox Township. Further, a known 30-year-old St. Marys man was stopped for a traffic violation and found under the influence of alcohol. State police also found drugs and paraphernalia on the man who was then transported to Elk Penn Highlands for blood testing. Charges are currently pending at this time.

Clearfield Borough

• Police arrested a 29-year-old Clearfield woman on simple assault and harassment charges. She allegedly assaulted a 40-year-old Clearfield man at a residence along South Fifth Street.  Further, she allegedly assaulted him because he called her step-mother an obscene name.  The man was taken to the hospital for facial injuries. The woman was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Patrick Ford; her bail was set at $5,000 unsecured.
• Police stopped the operator of a vehicle for a traffic violation along Bigler Avenue. As a result, police found that a passenger had several warrants out for his arrest.  He was transported to the jail on those warrants.
• Police checked the welfare of a male who threatened to harm himself. Police transported the male to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.
• Police received a report about a domestic situation on East Sixth Street. Upon arrival police determined that it wasn’t physical in nature. Those involved also didn’t want any police involvement.
• Police received a report about a tire being slashed on a vehicle while it was parked along Elk Avenue.
• Police received a report about two vehicles being damaged by someone using markers to write on them.
• Police received a report about people allegedly breaking into and entering a Nichols Street residence. Upon arrival police located and interviewed two juvenile females.
• Police received a report about a patient who walked from the hospital without medical clearance and still in possession of hospital items. Police searched the area but were unable to locate the female.
• Police received a report about a bicycle being removed from a residence along West Front Street.
• Police received a report about a reckless driver in the area of East Market and Third streets.  Upon arrival police searched the area; however, the vehicle was gone.
• Police responded to Choice for a minor vehicle accident.  No injuries were reported and the vehicles were driven from the scene.
• Police assisted with a fire alarm along Reed Street.
• Police assisted with an electrical wire hazard along West Locust Street.
• Police received a report about kids running in the alley, as well as in-and-out of an apartment complex on Williams Street.  The individuals fled prior to police arrival.
• Police received a report about an incident of harassment by communications.

Lawrence Township

• Police received a report about an incident of theft from a Hyde resident. However, police found it to be civil in nature.
• Police received a report about a scam involving student loan debt. Residents are urged not to provide any personal information over the Internet.
• Police received a report about an incident of retail theft at a local gas station. The suspect is known to police.
• Police received a traffic complaint that occurred along the Clearfield – Curwensville Highway.
• Police received a report about a suspicious vehicle in the Hyde area. Further, police checked the area but were unable to locate a vehicle.
• Police received a report about a traffic violation on South Second Street.
• Curwensville Borough police were assisted with an incident.
• Police received a report about a noise complaint on Daisy Street; the responsible party turned their music off.
• Police received a report about suspicious activity in the area of West Front Street. Upon arrival police found children playing in the area.
• Police received a report about an alarm at a local business. Upon arrival police found it was accidental.
• Clearfield Borough police were assisted with a domestic incident and a psychological emergency.
• Police received a report about loud music in the Glen Richey area. Upon arrival police advised the responsible party to turn their music down.
• Police received a report about drug paraphernalia being found at a local housing complex.
• Police received a 9-1-1 hang-up call from a camp on McGeorge Road. Upon arrival police found everything to be OK.
• Police checked the welfare of a female at the Roadway Inn. Upon arrival police found the female to be OK.
• Police located a suspicious vehicle on Airport Road.

DuBois City

• On Friday, police received a report about an incident of fraud at a business in the 200 block of North Brady Street. Further, the victim advised police that more than $2,300 worth of electronic cashiers’ checks were deposited into her account. It was found that these checks were fraudulent; the incident remains under investigation.
• On Friday, police received a trespassing complaint that occurred in the 200 block of South Brady Street. The caller told police she observed a female climb into a second-story window from a residence’s fire escape. Upon arrival police spoke with the resident who advised that the female was an invited guest. No further action was required of police.
• On Friday, police received a report about an incident of retail theft at a business in the 200 block of West Long Avenue. The victim told police that a female entered the store and removed several items before leaving. Upon reviewing store surveillance video, police have a suspect. The incident remains under investigation, and charges are currently pending at this time.
• On Friday, police received a trespassing complaint that occurred in the 100 block of East Washington Avenue. The victim told police that their guest refused to leave their residence. Upon arrival police advised a male that he needed to leave the residence, or he would be arrested for trespassing. The male then left without incident.
• On Saturday, police received a report about a two-vehicle accident on DuBois Street. Upon arrival police found both operators were stopped at a red light. The operator in the first vehicle put it in reverse and struck the one behind it, causing moderate damage. No injuries were reported as a result of the accident.
• On Saturday, police received a report about an incident of theft that occurred at a business on North Main Street. The victim told police he left his wallet at the business, and it was turned into the store. However, about $146 was missing from the wallet. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
• On Saturday, police received a report about a hit-and-run accident that occurred at a business on Hoover Avenue. Further, the victim’s vehicle was struck by the operator of an unknown vehicle while it was parked in a lot. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
• During the week of April 20-26, police investigated six traffic accidents and issued 37 traffic citations and four written traffic warnings.
• On Sunday, police received a report about a single-vehicle accident in the 200 block of East Park Avenue. While en route, police learned an operator of another vehicle picked up the operator and left the scene. Upon arrival police found that the operator of a blue Hyundai traveled around the corner of Maple Avenue onto East Park Avenue too fast and struck a tree. The vehicle then overturned onto its passenger’s side and slid down the roadway about 100 feet. Police identified the operator and charges are currently pending at this time.
• On Sunday, staff at DuBois Penn Highlands contacted police about a female patient who had been bitten by a dog in the area of Knarr Street. Police contacted the victim who provided a description of the dog. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
• On Sunday, police received a report about an incident of theft from a motor vehicle that occurred on East Weber Avenue. The victim told police that someone got into his vehicle and stole his camera. The incident remains under investigation at this time. Police would like to remind residents to lock their vehicles.
• On Sunday, police received a report about an incident of theft that occurred in the 200 block of South Brady Street. The victim told police that a known female stole items from their residence and has attempted to sell them online. The incident remains under investigation, and charges are currently pending at this time.
• On Sunday, police received a report about an incident of harassment by communications. The victim told police that her child’s father continues to send her harassing text messages. The incident remains under investigation, and charges are currently pending.
• On Sunday, police received a report about an incident of harassment at the city park. Further, the caller told police a group of girls were bullying another girl under the pavilion. The caller further related that they were threatening the other girl and pouring water on her. Police contacted the victim and charges are currently pending against the other females involved with the incident.
• On Sunday, police responded to check the welfare of a pregnant woman on the walkway by Shower’s Field. Witnesses told police that when asked the woman stated she wasn’t Ok. Upon arrival police searched the area around the walkway but couldn’t locate the woman.
