Gladys C. Meyer, 98, of Philipsburg died Monday, April 21, 2014 at Windy Hill Village in Philipsburg.
She was the daughter of the late Oscar and Charlotte (Brown) Lindberg born July 21, 1915 in Avis. She married George W. Meyer on June 6, 1937 in Lanse; he preceded her in death on Jan. 19, 1973.
Mrs. Meyer was a member of the First Evangelical Church in Philipsburg. She was a former member of both the Philipsburg State General Hospital Auxiliary and the Philipsburg Junior Women’s Club.
She was a homemaker and mother, and she enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. She was a 1933 graduate of the Cooper Township High School.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Meyer Anderson; two brothers, Walter and Devine Lindberg; and two sisters, Anna Curto, and Ebby Lutz.
Mrs. Meyer is survived by three daughters, Jackie Fosselman and her husband, Jess of Mechanicsburg, Georganna “Gigi” Sayers and her husband, Tom of Philipsburg and Connie Logan and her husband, Don of Camp Hill; a sister, Gloria Emmanuelson of Glastonbury, Conn.; and a brother, Earl Lindberg of State College.
She is also survived by five grandchildren, Kirsten Dickerson of Austin, Texas; Erica Black of Waco, Texas; Gretta Slossberg of Camp Hill; Shanna Slossberg of Ducannon; and Carly Sayers of Princeton, NJ; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A public memorial service will be held at a time and date to be announced. Burial will be at the Philipsburg Cemetery, Philipsburg.
There will be no public visitation.
