HOUTZDALE – The Clearfield-based state police have initiated an investigation into a hit-and-run accident that occurred Sunday on Clara Street in Houtzdale Borough.
The operator of a 2001 Chrysler Sebring was traveling westbound when they lost control for unknown reasons. The vehicle traveled onto the north shoulder and struck a legally parked 2002 Ford Focus.
After impact, the operator continued to travel westbound a short distance and struck a second legally parked vehicle, a 2004 Buick Rendezvous. They then fled the scene.
As a result of the accident, the Sebring sustained damage to the extent that it left a liquid trail. State police followed the trail for approximately one mile.
State police located the suspect vehicle behind an unoccupied residence on Connecticut Street. The vehicle was towed from that location, and the accident remains under investigation.
