Marie (Kost) Youstic, 97, of Houtzdale died Friday, April 18, 2014 at Penn Highlands, Clearfield.
She was born Nov. 8, 1916 in Janesville, a daughter of the late Andrew and Catherine (Rudiak) Kost.
She was a parishioner of the St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ramey. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens and taking long walks.
On Nov. 6, 1948 in St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, she married Peter Youstic, who preceded her in death on April 3, 1971.
She’s survived by a sister, Evelyn Peslipsky and a niece, Patricia Peslipsky, with whom she made her home. She was Patricia’s Godmother. She’s also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Ann Kostura, Helen Kost and Margaret Ludwig and six brothers, Charles, Pete, Metro, Frank and infants, John and George.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Monday and from 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Kruise Funeral Home Inc., Ramey. A Parastas service will be sung at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home by Fr. Anthony Balistreri.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, with the very Rev. Anthony Balistreri officiating.
Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Ramey.
