SANDY TOWNSHIP – A Treasure Lake fire has been ruled accidental, according to the state police at Ridgway. The fire occurred at 1:25 p.m. today at 133 Greater Inagua Ct., Treasure Lake in Sandy Township.
The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal and the Sandy Township Fire Department investigated the origin and cause of the fire. The fire started in a single-stall, wooden-framed garage.
The fire, state police said, originated in the garage and spread to the main residence. Radiant heat from the fire also caused external ignition of the residence at 157 Greater Inagua Ct.
No one was at home at 133 Greater Inagua Ct. at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental in nature, and damage was estimated at $150,000, state police said.
One firefighter sustained a minor hand injury while containing the fire
