State police at Clearfield
- An incident of theft occurred Thursday on North Railroad Street in Woodward Township. Further, it was reported to state police that prescription pills were stolen.
- An incident of theft occurred between April 8, 2013 and April 8, 2014 on Old Penfield Road in Pine Township. Further, someone climbed the electric poles and removed 5,000 feet of copper wire. The copper wire, state police said, has a total value of $2,500. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred sometime between Saturday and Sunday on Vulcan Road in Bigler Township. During the incident, someone used a sharp object to make three cuts in the victim’s tonneau cover, which was valued at $300. - An incident of criminal mischief occurred Friday on Hill Street in Chester Hill Borough. During the incident, a 20-year-old Philipsburg man was at the victim’s residence and allegedly punched a door, causing $100 worth of damage. The man has been charged through the district court.
- An incident of harassment occurred Sunday on Brisbin Street in Woodward Township. During the incident, a 42-year-old Houtzdale man allegedly choked the victim during a domestic dispute.
- An incident of DUI occurred Sunday on state Route 153 near Hale Street in Woodward Township. During the incident, a 22-year-old Morrisdale man was observed riding a utility terrain vehicle on SR 153 at a high rate of speed. State police conducted a traffic stop and found the man was under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested for DUI and related charges will be filed through the district court.
State police at Philipsburg
- An incident of retail theft occurred April 6 at the Mountain View Farm & Landscape on Spotts Road in Union Township. During the incident, someone removed hundreds of dollars in merchandise without paying for it. The suspect is a Caucasian female with a slender build and possibly in her late teens or early 20’s. She was driving a dark gray Eagle Talon or Mitsubishi Eclipse with a loud exhaust. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Philipsburg at 814-342-3370.
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred Sunday on Peppermint Lane in Huston Township. During the incident, someone dumped an unknown liquid on the victim’s parked car. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Philipsburg at 814-342-3370.
- A motor vehicle theft occurred Saturday at the Philipsburg Towers in Philipsburg Borough. Further, two known juveniles were allegedly observed rummaging through vehicles parked at 300 N. Front St. Upon arrival state police observed them driving out of the parking lot in a blue Chevrolet Silverado. As a result, state police initiated a traffic stop and found the vehicle was stolen.
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred sometime April 8-9 on East Spruce Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, the victim’s Chevrolet Silverado was spray painted on the driver’s side door and running board. - An incident of criminal mischief occurred sometime Saturday or Sunday on U.S. Route 322 west of Enterprise Drive in Rush Township. During the incident, someone intentionally threw rocks, pieces of wood and other objects onto the roadway. The incident remains under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Philipsburg at 814-342-3370.
- An incident of burglary occurred Sunday on South Centre Street in Philipsburg Borough. Further, someone burglarized the victim’s storage unit by forcibly breaking it open. Then, they stole miscellaneous furniture items, such as a leather seat, ottoman, couch, lamp, as well as several other items. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred sometime April 8-9 on North Sixth Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, the victim’s Jeep Patriot was spray painted with light-colored silver or white paint on the driver’s side door. State police at Ridgway
- An accident occurred Thursday in the First Commonwealth Bank parking lot in Jay Township. Further, a Buick LeSabre was legally parked and unattended when Mary J. Sarnoski of Penfield backed up and into the parked vehicle. Sarnoski then fled the scene without notifying the owner of the vehicle. Sarnoski will be cited for the accident.
- An accident occurred Saturday on Main Street in Fox Township. The operator of a Buick Regal was traveling southbound when for unknown reasons the vehicle exited the roadway, struck a ditch and became disabled. During an interview with state police, the operator stated she’d fallen asleep while driving; further investigation revealed she was under the influence of alcohol. The operator wasn’t wearing her seatbelt and sustained minor injuries. She was taken to Elk Penn Highlands for a blood draw, and DUI charges are pending those results. She was cited for several traffic violations.
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred sometime Wednesday or Thursday on Route 219 in Horton Township. Further, someone damaged the victim’s Chevrolet Silverado by breaking the driver’s side window. Damage is estimated at $200. Clearfield Borough
- Police checked the welfare of a woman walking along Williams Street. Further, a 24-year-old Clearfield woman was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.
- Police responded to a domestic incident on Turnpike Avenue. Upon police arrival, a 32-year-old Mineral Springs man fled from the scene. He was apprehended a short distance away and arrested for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. He was transported to the Clearfield County Jail.
- Sandy Township police encountered a male who had an active arrest warrant through Clearfield Borough police. The male was arraigned and placed in the CCJ on that warrant.
- Police stopped the operator of a vehicle along West Front Street for a traffic violation. Further, two juveniles were inside the vehicle and neither possessed a driver’s license. During the investigation, it was learned the juveniles took the vehicle from their parents’ residence without their knowledge. They were transported to the police station, where they were picked up by their parent/guardian.
- Police recovered a vehicle that was stolen from the Clearfield area in March. Further, a red Ford Ranger, which was stolen from Linden Street, was recovered in Curwensville Borough in the parking lot of Meadow Street and River Road.
- Police responded to a domestic dispute between a male and three females on Park Avenue. Further, a 20-year-old Clearfield man and a 21-year-old Clearfield woman were cited for disorderly conduct.
- Police responded to a domestic dispute on East Locust Street. Further, a 53-year-old Treasure Lake man was allegedly intoxicated and kicked a dog. The man fled the residence prior to police arrival. Charges are pending against the man.
- Lawrence Township police were assisted with a fight at the Travel Lodge. Further, the individuals involved were gone when police arrived at the scene.
- Police have initiated an investigation into an alleged assault that occurred on East Market Street. Further, a 54-year-old Clearfield woman allegedly kicked and threatened a 46-year-old Clearfield man.
- Police assisted the fire department with a reported transformer fire along Park Avenue.
- Police handled a harassment issue along Daisy Street.
- Police responded to a disturbance between a mother and daughter on South Third Street.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about an incident of harassment. The incident was listed as unfounded.
- Police responded to the Wal-Mart Supercenter, where a female had stolen items. As a result, police will file charges against a Clearfield female for the incident.
- Police received a report about an alleged burglary at an apartment along South Second Street. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- Police received a report about a female who was stealing from the Wal-Mart Supercenter. Further, a Clearfield female will be charged with retail theft.
- Police received a call about child custody questions.
- The state Fish & Boat Commission was assisted with an incident in Glen Richey.
- Police received a report about a tractor-trailer that was off the roadway in O’Shanter.
- Police responded to the Economy Inn where someone was allegedly attempting to get into an apartment. Upon arrival police found the female had locked herself out.
- Police received a report about a large fight at the Travel Lodge. Upon arrival police learned the individuals who were involved had left the scene.
- Police located two suspicious vehicles at the Rec Park.
- Police received a report about a fight involving a male and female. However, police found they’d left the residence.
- Police received a report about an alarm at a local business.
- Police received a report about the operator of a vehicle that damaged private property and then fled the scene. The male was later located and arrested for DUI.
- Police received a report about two individuals who were striking each other. Upon arrival police separated the individuals.
- Police received a report about an incident of harassment by communications. Further, police attempted several times to make contact with the suspect but weren’t successful.
- Police received a report about a disturbance in the area of Shaw Street. Upon arrival police separated the individuals.
- Clearfield Borough police were assisted with a suspicious person.
- Police received a report about a disabled vehicle.
- Police received a report about a motorcycle that had struck a deer.
- Police received a report about an injured deer on Pifer Road.
- Police received a report about an incident of trespass on Shaw Street.
- Police located a suspicious vehicle on Bud George Boulevard.
Curwensville Borough
- The state Fish & Boat Commission was assisted in the Glen Richey area. Further, police transported two wanted people to the CCJ.
- On Saturday, police received a report about an alleged assault that occurred at the Locust Street Apartments. Further, four males allegedly forced their way into an apartment, assaulting the tenant and demanding money.
- Police received a report about a stolen air conditioner from a Locust Street resident on Saturday.
DuBois City
- On Thursday, police received a report about a hit-and-run accident on Lakeside Avenue. The victim told police that while her vehicles were parked, the operator of an unknown vehicle struck them, causing damage to both. The accident remains under investigation at this time.
- On Thursday, police received a report about an incident of harassment in the 100 block of West Weber Avenue. The victim told police that a known male continues to come to her residence and work to harass her. She told police she wanted to document the harassment; however, if the male continues his actions, she plans to pursue charges.
- On Friday, police received a report about a two-vehicle accident in the 200 block of South Brady Street. The operator of a Toyota Camry was backing out of a parking space and struck a parked Jeep Liberty. No injuries were reported; both vehicles sustained minor damage. The owners of the vehicles exchanged information, at which point police cleared the scene.
- On Friday, police received a report about possible gun shots fired in the area of Rumbarger Avenue and South Main Street. Upon arrival police learned there were four loud bangs after which the witness observed a dark sports utility vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed down an alley onto South Main Street. As police searched the area, another witness advised that the operator of a blue SUV threw firecrackers onto the roadway. Police found several firecracker casings on the roadway but couldn’t locate the SUV. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
