DUBOIS – PennDOT will be involved in some special activities over the next week that will impact traffic on Interstate 80 and roadways in and around DuBois. Work will include:
- Utility line removal at mile-marker 106 of I-80, east of DuBois. This work will take place between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Sunday. The utility line removal will require a rolling roadblock between mile markers 101 and 111 eastbound and westbound. Drivers should remain alert for stopped or slowed traffic and be prepared for travel delays. Pennsylvania State Police will be on site to enhance safety through the work zone.
- Monday through Friday, PennDOT crews will be working to sweep roadways in and around the city of DuBois. In order to minimize traffic disruptions, areas of high traffic volumes and the downtown area will be swept overnight, from midnight to 8 a.m. Other areas will see sweeping activity during daylight hours. Work will include Route 219, Route 255, Route 4019 (Dixon Avenue/Main Street/DuBois Street), Route 4014 (Maple Avenue/Park Avenue), and Route 4017 (Shaffer Road). Property owners along these routes are asked to clear sidewalks of debris in advance of next week’s activity. Roadway sweeping is a moving operation that proceeds slowly. PennDOT reminds motorists to remain alert for sweeping crews as this work takes place.
Drivers are reminded to obey posted speed limits, move through work zones with caution and always buckle up.
