State police at Philipsburg
- An incident of burglary occurred Tuesday on North Sixth Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, someone entered a residence through an unlocked door and removed a BMX, 20-inch DK bicycle, as well as a tub of Longhorn items. - An incident of criminal mischief occurred Tuesday at a Second Street residence in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, a 23-year-old Philipsburg man allegedly used a kitchen knife to scratch the screen of a JVC flat screen television. He also allegedly used the knife to stab a mattress several times. Both items belonged to Aaron’s Rent-A-Center, State College, and being rented to the victim. Total damage is estimated at $1,000. Charges are being filed against the man as a result of the incident.
- An incident of harassment and criminal mischief occurred Tuesday on Second and Spruce streets in Philipsburg Borough. It was reported to state police that a known juvenile had allegedly thrown a stone at a vehicle in the area of Second and Spruce streets, causing damage to the vehicle. The juvenile was also allegedly observed throwing a stone at a building in the area of Presqueisle and Water streets. At this point, the witness confronted the juvenile who allegedly put his hands around the witness’ neck and punched him several times. The incident remains under investigation at this time, and anyone with information is asked to contact state police at Philipsburg at 814-342-3370.
- An incident of burglary occurred sometime between Tuesday and Thursday on North Front Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, someone entered the Williamson Barber Shop and damaged several items. Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a civil issue.
- Police received a report about a phone scam. Further, police advised it involved a caller from out-of-the-area who claims a family member has been placed under arrest. The caller requests money for bail. Police would like to warn that such a call is a scam, and residents who receive it should verify the validity of the caller.
- Police assisted a motorist on Daisy Street Extension.
Curwensville Borough
- Police received a report about an incident of harassment on Wednesday.
- Police arrested a Curwensville man for operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol in the area of Ridge Avenue on Wednesday.
DuBois City
- On Wednesday, police received a report about a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Juniata Street and East Garfield Avenue. Further, the operator of a Toyota Corolla was traveling eastbound on Garfield Avenue and stopped at Juniata Street before proceeding into the intersection. At that point, the operator of a Hyundai was traveling south on Juniata Street and had the right-of-way when it struck the Corolla. No injuries were reported as a result of the accident. The Corolla was towed from the scene.
- On Wednesday, police initiated an investigation into the theft of various items from an apartment in the 800 block of DuBois Street. Further, a resident who was sharing the apartment reported that while she was incarcerated, someone stole various items from her room.
- On Wednesday, police received a report about an alarm being activated at the post office on Hoover Avenue. Upon arrival, police found everything to be OK.
