CLEARFIELD – The Board of Elections is currently considering the relocation of Cooper Township’s second voting precinct, announced Dawn Graham, elections director, at yesterday’s Clearfield County Commissioners’ meeting.
Cooper Township’s second voting precinct is currently located at the Forest Emmanuel United Methodist Church at 302 Winburne – Munson Rd., Morrisdale, said Graham. If approved, she said it would be relocated to the St. John Lutheran Church at 3471 Winburne – Munson Rd., Morrisdale.
Within the past week, she said the Elections Office has learned about heat and water issues at this precinct’s current location. She said the proposed location has plenty of parking and space and is also handicap accessible.
Graham said anyone wishing to submit comments and or objections may do so before April 21. She can be reached by mail at 212 E. Locust St., Suite 106, Clearfield, PA 16830 or via e-mail at elections@clearfieldco.org.
When asked, Graham said she believed this would be a permanent voting precinct change. The commissioners will vote on the change April 22 if the Elections Office doesn’t receive any objections.
