State police at Clearfield
- An incident of harassment occurred Sunday in Decatur Township. During the incident, two individuals allegedly subjected each other to physical contact. No charges will be filed as a result of the incident.
- An incident of theft/access device fraud occurred between Sept. 17, 2013 and Monday on the Bailey Settlement Highway in Pike Township. During the incident, a 27-year-old Curwensville woman allegedly acquired the victim’s personal information and opened several credit card accounts. The woman then allegedly made purchases and was later identified through a credit card report. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
State police at Philipsburg
- Sometime between March 26 and April 3, the victim received a $500 check from a 63-year-old Philipsburg man for the purchase of a vehicle. The check, however, was returned due to insufficient funds. The incident remains under investigation.
Clearfield Borough
- Police received a report about an unwanted female who entered a residence in the 200 block of North Second Street. Upon arrival police located the female a short distance from the residence, and she was found to be highly intoxicated. The female was transported to the Clearfield County Jail and housed pending further legal action.
- Police received a report about a hit-and-run accident on Linden Street. Further, someone struck the driver’s side of a parked vehicle, causing damage to the front mirror. The operator of the vehicle then fled the scene.
- Police handled a harassment incident along East Market Street.
- Police assisted with a female who was found lying on the ground along Linden and Chester streets. She was transported to the hospital.
- Police encountered two suspicious males along Power Avenue.
- Police assisted Children & Youth Services with an incident along East Pine Street.
- Police received a report about a reckless driving incident that occurred along East Market and North Third streets.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about an activated alarm at Pizza Hut.
- Police received a report about a disabled vehicle in the area of River View and Coal Hill roads.
- Police checked the welfare of someone on Danver Road. Upon arrival police found everything to be OK.
- Police received a report about a neighbor dispute on Poplar Avenue.
- Police received a report about a phone scam, which involved the United National Legal Department of California. The department wanted payment from a resident for an outstanding warrant to avoid an arrest.
- Police responded to a medical emergency in the area of Linden and Chester streets.
- Police assisted with attempting to locate a male who was involved with an incident in Curwensville.
- Police received a report about a tree that was partially blocking Hog Back Road.
- Police received a noise complaint on Washington Avenue. Upon arrival police spoke with a resident who was turning their music off.
Curwensville Borough
- Police received a report about an incident involving two adults, which was determined to be civil in nature.
- Police received a report about a domestic disturbance at the Curwensville Commons. Upon arrival police handled the incident at the scene.
DuBois City
- On Monday, police received a report about an alleged fraud incident from a resident in the 100 block of South Highland Street. The victim received a phone call from someone who claimed to represent an overseas lottery, which she’d won. The caller requested personal information, at which point she hung up. Police would like to advise residents not to provide their personal information over the phone.
- On Monday, police responded to Sunflower Drive for a male who was wanted on a warrant. Upon arrival police confirmed two warrants out on the male. He was taken into custody and placed in the Clearfield County Jail. The male, police said, is also a suspect in the theft of a motor vehicle. In that case, charges are currently pending.
- On Monday, police received a report about a hit-and-run accident at 100 Hospital Ave. The victim told police that while her vehicle was parked at the hospital, someone struck it, causing damage to the rear and side of it. The accident remains under investigation.
- On Monday, police received a report about a suspicious male who was walking through residents’ yards in the 100 block of West Washington Avenue. The male was wearing a gray-colored hooded sweatshirt and black pants. Upon arrival police searched the area but couldn’t locate the male.
- On Tuesday, police received a report about a fight in progress at a business in the 300 block of West DuBois Avenue. Upon arrival police observed four males who were arguing in the parking lot. One male, police said, was being aggressive toward the other males. As police approached him, the male started to argue with them and wouldn’t follow the verbal commands of police. Police took the male into custody as a result. The investigation is continuing with multiple charges pending at this time.
- On Tuesday, police received a report about an alarm at a business in the 200 block of South Jared Street. Upon arrival police found everything to be OK.
- During the week of March 30 through Saturday, police investigated 16 traffic accidents and issued 43 traffic citations and five written traffic warnings.
