DUBOIS – Jackie Diehl Syktich, president and chief executive officer of DuBois Business College (DBC), received for a second year an honor as a Top 100 Business Leader of 2013 by Pennsylvania Business Central in its Jan. 24 edition.
The Top 100 Business Leaders is a Pennsylvania Business Central distinction that honors top executives from some of the state’s most successful companies, along with business people from all levels who have made a major impact in their community and the business-to-business (B2B) world throughout the last year.
According to the lead article in the January edition of the Pennsylvania Business Central, persons nominated for this honor must have a significant impact in the business community, from job creation, building expansion and improvements, to fiscal growth or community involvement. Syktich’s many accomplishments include oversight of four campuses in DuBois, Huntingdon, Oil City and just recently, Philipsburg; receiving the Honor Roll Distinction Award by the Accrediting Council of Independent Colleges and Schools; and the recipient of the Hall of Fame by the Pennsylvania Association of Private School Administrators.
Additionally, Syktich is devoted to her community. She is involved with Pentz Run Youth Services, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, The Not Smoking Program for Teens, DuBois Area Historical Society, RULE/The Pennsylvania Rural Leadership Program, Greater DuBois Leadership Institute, Boy Scouts of America, Northwest Savings Bank advisory board, Clearfield County Career & Technology Center Chairwoman, Jefferson County/DuBois AVTS advisory board, and St. Mary’s High School stakeholder’s board member.
The DBC is proud and honored to have such a leader as Syktich as president/CEO of its educational institution. Her leadership is an inspiration to not only her faculty and staff, but also the students who attend DBC, stated a press release from the DBC.
