DUBOIS – The DuBois Business College (DBC) received distinction as a Top 100 Organization for 2013 in the Feb. 21 edition of the Pennsylvania Business Central paper.
There are more than 65,000 organizations in The Pennsylvania Business Central’s 22-county readership area. A wide variety of organizations make up this demographic. Financial companies, educational entities (DBC being one of those), law firms, gas and oil companies and suppliers are just a few of the many organizations represented.
The DBC opened in 1885 as DuBois College of Business, and through the years remains as one of the oldest business colleges in the country. Under the leadership of the current President, Jackie Diehl Syktich, and a team of exceptionally dedicated instructors and staff, the DBC fills an important educational role in the DuBois region.
Offering a wide variety of programs in the business arena, the DBC has grown several times over the years. With campuses in Huntingdon and Oil City, it helps interested persons from those areas receive skills and education needed to compete in their respective job markets. A new location will be open in April in Philipsburg, providing needed skills and educational experiences to people in that area.
In 2014, the DBC received distinction as a Military Friendly School for its support of military veterans in their educational pursuits. The college receives distinction as an Honor Roll School by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools.
The wide number of student organizations at DBC supports a variety of charities and non-profit organizations each term. In 2013, DBC received a Community Service Award from the Pennsylvania Association of Private School Administrators in recognition of its support for Pentz Run Youth Services.
The Top 100 Organization List is Pennsylvania Business Central’s way of honoring those organizations that have achieved success as part of the Business-to-Business (B2B) community.
