Mae Ida Wetherson, 97, of Houtzdale and a guest of Windy Hill Village of Presbyterian Home, Philipsburg, died Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Windy Hill Village.
Born Oct. 1, 1916 in Houtzdale, she was the daughter of Roy and Grace (Mayhew) Dunlap. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church, Houtzdale.
On Sept. 3, 1948 in the First United Methodist Church in Houtzdale, the Rev. Price presided over the wedding ceremony of Mae and Don Wetherson. He preceded her in death on July 17, 2011.
She is survived by a son, James Keith and his wife, Veronica of Woodland and a daughter Janet Buckwalter and her husband, Neil of Houtzdale; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are a brother, Harold Dunlap of Bellwood and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; an infant, daughter; a son, Carl Keith; a daughter-in-law, Jeanette Keith; a grandson, Wayne Keith; a great-grandson, Dylan Keith; two sisters, Peg Keith and Helen Unick; and three brothers, Chuck, Lloyd and Ralph.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church, Houtzdale, with the Rev. Robert Ford officiating.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the Birger A. Freeberg Funeral Home Inc., Houtzdale, and from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brisbin.
