Alvin Robert Bloom, 83, of Clearfield died Monday, April 24, 2014 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Clearfield.
Born May 8, 1930, he was the son of William T. and Ada (Cleaver) Bloom. He was a social member of the R.H.&L. Fireman’s Club in Curwensville.
Surviving are four children, Bonnie Lefebvre and her partner, Ed Olson of Clearfield, Larry, Charles and Calvin Bloom, all of DuBois. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Ronald J. and Angel K. Lefebvre and two sisters, Frances McLaughlin of Clearfield and Charlotte Cowder of Johnstown. In addition his companion, Patricia Whitaker, of Clearfield survives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Rhonda Kaye Hilliard; his brothers, Urban, Walter, Nevin and Nelson Bloom; and his sisters, Hazel Passmore, Gail Stevens and Arlene Mrowczynski.
Mr. Bloom wished to have his body donated to science, so there will be no public visitation and memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family.
