State police at Clearfield
- No injuries were reported after a single-vehicle accident involving a freightliner occurred Monday on the Curwensville – Grampian Highway in Pike Township. Anthony G. Jarvie of LaJose was traveling westbound and negotiating a right-hand curve. He lost control of his freightliner, which caused it to travel down an embankment off of the westbound lane of travel. After that it ended up in a ditch before continuing to travel and striking an embankment. Jarvie was cited for the accident. PennDOT assisted with traffic control at the accident scene.
- On Tuesday, state police received a report that while a nurse was administering medication at the State Correctional Institution at Houtzdale, an inmate forcibly grabbed her wrist and wouldn’t let go. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- An incident of theft from a motor vehicle occurred Tuesday on Blue Spruce Road in Decatur Township. Further, the victim told state police that prescription pills and work clothes were missing from the back of his car. The total value of the stolen items is approximately $200.
State police at DuBois
- An incident of theft, fraud and forgery occurred March 19 at the Target ATM in Brooklyn, NY. During the incident, someone used a Brockway woman’s identity and account information to withdraw funds from the ATM.
- An incident of DUI occurred March 21 on state Route 830 in Sandy Township. During the incident, state police stopped a man for a traffic violation and determined he was under the influence of alcohol. He was subsequently arrested for DUI.
- An incident of DUI occurred Saturday at the Sheetz store in the area of Route 119 and Route 322 in Sandy Township. During the incident, state police stopped a 20-year-old Sykesville man for vehicle code violations. He was found to be under the influence of alcohol and placed under arrest for suspected DUI. Charges are currently pending at this time.
- An incident of underage drinking occurred Saturday at the Sheetz store in the area of Route 119 and Route 322 in Sandy Township. Further, a 17-year-old girl was found to have consumed alcohol. The girl, state police said, was a passenger of a vehicle stopped for vehicle code violations. Charges were filed through the district court.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a hit-and-run accident in the parking lot of the Wal-Mart Supercenter.
- Police received a report about a child’s bicycle that was in the river near the post office.
- Police received a report about the theft of a check. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- Police received a report about an incident of theft by deception. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- Police received a report about a damaged mailbox at a local business. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- Police received a report about a suspicious vehicle on the Old Erie Pike.
- Police received a report about a suspected drunken motorist in the area of High Level Road.
- Police received a report about a possible abandoned vehicle in the area of George Road. The vehicle, police said, was not abandoned.
- Police received a report about an incident of harassment in the Glen Richey area.
- Police received a report about suspicious activity in the Old Town Road area.
- Police received a report from a resident who found a plastic baggy containing a white powdery substance. Further, police tested the substance and determined it was cocaine.
- Police received a report about a disabled vehicle on SR 879.
- Police responded to a noise complaint on Lawrence Avenue. Further, police checked the area but couldn’t locate any noise.
- Police located a suspicious vehicle on Fire Tower Road.
Curwensville Borough
- Several incidents of disorderly conduct and criminal mischief occurred in the South Side area early Saturday morning. Those who were apprehended will be arrested, police said.
- Police received a report about an incident of careless driving in the area of Cooper Road within Irvin Park on Sunday.
- Police would like to inform property owners on Susquehanna Avenue and Filbert Street that they are permitted to sweep their sidewalks of anti-skid material. However, they are to sweep onto the roadway adjacent to the curb for street cleaning. Failure to clean the sidewalks of this material, police said, is a violation of borough ordinance.
DuBois City
- A hit-and-run accident occurred Monday in the 500 block of Main Street. Further, someone struck a truck, which was parked and then fled the scene. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- A domestic dispute occurred between a mother and daughter on Monday in the 700 block of West Long Avenue. When the mother arrived home, she found her daughter had damaged her vehicle and home. They allegedly pushed each other during the argument. Charges are currently pending at this time.
- On Monday, a DuBois woman reported she was contacted by someone who claimed to be with Microsoft. The caller offered to repair her computer for $15 but also needed her to provide credit card information, which she did. When she later checked her card’s balance, she found someone had withdrawn money from the account. No repairs were done to her computer, police said, noting the incident remains under investigation at this time.
- On Monday, two juveniles reported that they were threatened by another juvenile with a BB gun while walking home from the bus stop. Police determined the gun was never pointed at anyone. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- On Monday, two juveniles ran away from the Pentz Run Youth Center. With assistance from one juvenile’s mother, police located the juveniles and returned them to the center.
- On Tuesday, someone smashed the front window out of a residence in the 600 block of Locust Street. A glass table on the front porch was also damaged, said police. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- A domestic disturbance occurred Tuesday in the 300 block of West DuBois Avenue. Further, a man and his girlfriend engaged in an altercation, during which he hid her purse. Neither individual wanted to pursue charges.
- On Tuesday, police initiated an investigation into the theft of a four-ton body repair kit from a business in the first block of South Jared Street. The kit is valued at more than $300.
- On Tuesday, two men were involved in a physical altercation in the 800 block of East DuBois Avenue. No one was injured during the fight, and neither wanted to pursue charges.
- A two-vehicle accident occurred Tuesday in the 200 block of Maple Avenue. Further, a 2012 Honda CRV was stopped while the operator waited to turn left. At that time, it was struck by a 2008 Hyundai Accent. No injuries were reported as a result of the accident. The Hyundai was towed from the scene.
