WJAC-TV: Feds: Inmate sent Obama Threat to Wrong Address
PITTSBURGH (AP) — A convicted child molester is accused of sending a threatening letter to President Barack Obama — albeit to the wrong address.
Federal prosecutors in Pittsburgh say 34-year-old Joseph Savage mailed the letter from the Fayette County Prison while he was awaiting trial in October 2012.
Maney: Girard Twp. Tax Collector Accused of Impropriety
CLEARFIELD – The Girard Township tax collector has been accused of approximately $50,000 worth of improprieties after the Clearfield Area School District’s auditor performed a review of local tax collectors, announced Sam Maney, business administrator, at Monday’s regular school board meeting.

County Approves Voting Precinct Changes
CLEARFIELD – The Board of Elections will relocate three voting precincts, effective for the May 20 Primary Election, after Dawn Graham, director of elections, gained approval from the Clearfield County Commissioners at yesterday’s regular meeting.
PSP: Rebel Towing Owner, Employee Under Investigation for Allegedly Selling Heroin
HILIPSBURG – The owner and an employee of Rebel Towing of Philipsburg are under investigation for allegedly distributing heroin, reported the state police at Philipsburg today.
The Pennsylvania State Police’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation North Central Strike Force initiated an investigation into the distribution of heroin in the Philipsburg area and surrounding communities. Their investigation started in December of 2013 and is ongoing at this time.
NY Resident Waives Hearing in Drug Case
CLEARFIELD – The last of the three New York residents who were allegedly found in possession of large amounts of drugs and cash after a traffic stop in Lawrence Township in February appeared for their preliminary hearing Wednesday during Centralized Court at the Clearfield County Jail.
Thompson Agriculture Oversight Hearing Exposes Widespread Abuse of Taxpayer Funded Lawsuits
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson (PA-5), chairman of the House Agriculture Committee’s Subcommittee on Conservation, Energy and Forestry, held a public hearing to review the impact of the Endangered Species Act (ESA) and related litigation on the U.S. Forest Service and National Forest System management.
WJAC-TV: Judge: Flight 93 Site Correctly Valued by Panel
PITTSBURGH (AP) — A federal judge in western Pennsylvania has ruled that a commission correctly valued the site of the Flight 93 memorial last year at about $1.5 million.
The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review (http://bit.ly/1jPuvB4 ) reports that U.S. District Judge Donetta Ambrose on Wednesday rejected arguments by the previous property owner, Michael Svonavec, and the federal government, which currently owns the site.
