James Michael “Mike” Carns, 65, of Brookville and formerly of DuBois, died Monday, March 24, 2014 at Brookside Assisted Living in Brookville.
Born March 9, 1949 in DuBois, he was the son of James A. Carns and Margaret (Rasavage) Carns. His mother survives and lives in DuBois.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served during the Vietnam War. He retired as a Pennsylvania State Police trooper after 25 years of service.
He is survived by his long-time companion, Millie Gunning of Brookville and his daughter, Colleen Carns of Pittsburgh.
He was preceded in death by his father.
There will be no visitation.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
