CLEARFIELD – Looking for a unique way to spend your lunch hour? You can come out to Lock Haven University Clearfield for a complimentary bowl of soup and entertainment featuring Dr. David Curtin, Steinway Artist and faculty member at Lock Haven University.
Curtin will share a beautiful selection of Scarlatti, Haydn, Beethoven and Schubert. You can jump in the car with a group of co-workers or friends, grab a free meal and enjoy the music.
Soup and Sounds will be held from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. Thursday.
Curtin is professor of piano and music theory at Lock Haven University. He is a graduate of SUNY Fredonia, the University of Louisville, and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
Prior to his appointment at Lock Haven University, Curtin served on the faculty of Angelo State University in Texas, Albion College in Michigan, Utah State University and the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
His recent performances have included a presentation of J.S. Bach’s Keyboard Concerto in D Major with the J.S. Chamber Ensemble in Cincinnati, multiple engagements with the East Mountain Artist Series in Albuquerque, NM, and recitals at historic Steinway Hall in New York City.
He has performed and taught throughout the United States and the United Kingdom, as well as in Mexico, Korea and China.
Curtin is a Steinway Artist, and performs exclusively on Steinway-designed instruments. The Steinway Artist designation is an internationally-recognized honor given to only the finest concert pianists.
