UNIVERSITY PARK – On April 8, Penn State’s Center for Ethics and Religious Affairs, and the Center for Women Students will again host a program to raise awareness about violence and the incredible journeys of survivors whose courage and resolve help them move forward despite a difficult and painful struggle.
Now in its seventh year, Honoring Survival: Transforming the Spirit honors the strength and resiliency of survivors of sexual, emotional and physical violence, and those who support them in their healing process. The intention is to bring these issues to light, focus on the courage and tenacity of the survivors, and highlight Penn State’s resources for those who are/have been victims of violence. Hear the stories of survivors and those who support them through poetry, storytelling and music. Violence does not discriminate and touches all of us in different ways.
This program will take place at 6:30 p.m. in The Pasquerilla Spiritual Center’s Memorial Lounge. Show your support and participate in an evening of empowerment, focused on the healing journey from violence. A reception will follow. Call 814-865-6548 or emailspiritual@psu.edu with any questions.
