CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County Coroner Mike Morris said his office received 381 calls through the Clearfield County dispatch center, as well as an additional 1,175 calls via fax, office phone and cellular phone.
Morris’ office handled 746 cases, including the investigation of 239 deaths, 309 reviews for cremations authorization and recorded 198 hospice deaths.
Of the 239 deaths investigated, 162 were natural deaths; 25 accidental; six suicides; 10 homicides; four homicide by vehicle; and four undetermined fetal deaths.
Morris would like to thank the local and state police, the county’s many ambulance and fire services, the district attorney’s office, Clearfield County Emergency Management Agency and the staff at both hospitals for all of their assistance in these matters.
