CLEARFIELD – Samantha Boulton, of Clearfield and a Lock Haven University student, will be the guest of honor at the “Meet the Author” event on March 27. The event will take place at 6:30 p.m. at LHU Clearfield’s Founders’ Hall.
Boulton will be showcasing her first book, The Isthmus Company, which was released on Nov. 26, 2013. She began writing the book in a math class her senior year of high school with the intention that no one should ever see it. Since then, she has worked feverishly while attending college and maintaining employment to finish the last five books in the series.
Her book, The Isthmus Company, is described at its best as an unscrupulous loan company, and at its worst, a front for organized crime. When a debt to the Isthmus Company goes unpaid, Tag Jones and Tryp Marxon are sent to collect collateral – a possession that when taken, instils the motivation to pay repay the debt. But what happens when they encounter a man whose only valuable possession is his daughter?
This event, co-sponsored by the Shaw Public Library, is open to the public. Individuals are invited to meet and talk with Boulton. Copies of The Isthmus Company will be available for purchase and signing.
