Helen (Mandrick) Olosky, 90, of Olanta died Friday, March 7, 2014 at her residence.
She was born in Blackburn on May 19, 1923, a daughter of the late John and Eva (Hoshovska) Mandrick.
Mrs. Olosky was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and especially her flower gardens.
On Oct. 25, 1941 in Houtzdale, she married Michael Olosky, whom preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 1997.
Mrs. Olosky is survived by two daughters and a son, Mary Burton (Floyd) of Osceola Mills and Kathleen Bloom and James Olosky, both of Olanta.
She is also survived by a granddaughter, Miranda Burton; two step-grandsons, Leonard
Bloom (Darlene) and Victor Bloom; and five step-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Olosky is survived by a brother and two sisters, George Mandrick (Margaret) of Janesville, Nancy Meyers (George) of Ontario, Canada and Kathryn Bush (Eugene) of Texas; a sister-in-law, Rosemary Mandrick of Florida; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Olosky was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Olosky on Feb. 27, 2003; a son-in-law, Forrest V. Bloom on Jan. 13, 2014; two infant sons and an infant daughter; seven siblings, Mary McGraw, Ann Mandrick, Susan Henshaw, Metro Mandrick, John Mandrick, Evelyn Reed and Mike Mandrick.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Kruise Funeral Home Inc., Madera.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Ford officiating.
Burial will follow in the Thompson Cemetery, Glen Richey.
