CLEARFIELD – A Mineral Springs man pleaded guilty to selling drugs in Clearfield County Court.
Mark James Hackett, 26, 215 Post Office Rd., Mineral Springs, pleaded guilty to criminal use of communication facility and delivery of a controlled substance. He was sentenced by Judge Paul E. Cherry to nine months to two years in state prison, according to court documents. He was fined $2 plus costs.
According to the affidavit in this case, an undercover agent purchased three Subutex pills from Hackett for $120.
On June 28, an agent and confidential informant met with Hackett at Gio’s in Woodland. While they spoke, the agent noticed a green and white prescription bag in the center console of the vehicle Hackett was traveling in. The agent was able to buy three pills for $120.
The agent then contacted area pharmacies and found the one who had filled a prescription for Subutex for Hackett earlier that day. The video surveillance footage from the pharmacy showed Hackett receiving a prescription that from documentation was identified as Subutex. He paid $249.95 in cash for the prescription.
Hackett’s probation on a previous hindering apprehension case was also revoked. For this he was given a concurrent sentence of nine months to two years in state prison.
