CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) annual Books-Sandwiched-In series begins at 12 p.m. March 5.
Held at the Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library in Clearfield, the event features a book review by a local resident and meal prepared by event organizers.
At this first program in the series, Mary Jane Rowles will discuss the book Taylor’s Gift: A Courageous Story of Giving Life and Renewing Hope by Tara and Todd Storch. According to a description of the book, 13-year-old Taylor Storch’s grieving parents, Tara and Todd Storch, decided to donate her organs after she tragically passed away.
Afterwards, her parents connected with several of the recipients of Taylor’s gift. The authors share their story, shining a light at the end of the tunnel for those suffering from the loss of a loved one. Through the stories of the donor recipients, readers will discover hope in the midst of pain. The Storches are changing the conversation that organ donation is not about death–it’s about life.
The lunch provided during the presentation will be a donation of $4. Proceeds from the program fund projects sponsored by AAUW.
