Perthenia M. “Teeny” Rinard, 81, of Philipsburg and formerly of Saxton, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014 at Windy Hill Village, Philipsburg.
Born Sept. 9, 1932 in Saxton, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Bertha (Detwiller) Wyles. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Sandy Ridge, the Mt. Top Fire Company Auxiliary and the Social Club at the Philipsburg Towers.
She enjoyed latch hook, word searches, jig saw puzzles and cooking for the pot luck dinners at the Towers. On Dec. 7, 1951 in Saxton, she married Palmer Rinard, whom died on Oct. 20, 1972.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Ellen Kline and her husband, Grant of Houtzdale.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Grace Smith and Margaret “Peg” Butts, and three brothers, Warren Wyles, Ray Wyles and Melt Wyles.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Philipsburg Towers, 300 N. Front St., Philipsburg, with the Rev. Mark Thumma officiating. Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Lutheran Cemetery, McAlvey’s Fort.
