CLEARFIELD – Three New York residents have been arraigned on drug charges and incarcerated at the Clearfield County Jail, according to the Lawrence Township police.
Edward Allen and Shaking Saunders, both of Far Rockaway, NY, and Lashanda Mount of Saratoga Springs, NY were arraigned before Magisterial District Judge James Hawkins. Bail has been set at $100,000 for both Allen and Saunders and $50,000 for Mount.
Police conducted a traffic stop near state Route 879 and Interstate 80 after receiving information about multiple people selling illegal narcotics from a local motel. Multiple people, police said, were taken into custody.
Police subsequently obtained a search warrant for the vehicle. The search, police said, turned up approximately 2 ounces of suspected crack cocaine and more than $7,000 in U.S. Currency.
Charges of possession with intent to deliver an illegal substance and possession of a controlled substance and a prohibited offensive weapon were filed. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for March 5, police said.
