STATE COLLEGE – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 12 p.m. today, according to the National Weather Service in State College.
The NWS anticipates snow accumulations of two to four inches through mid-morning in the central mountains and until 12 p.m. in the northwest. “Very intense snow” will occur over the northern mountains and Alleghenies over the next two hours.
The heavy snow will reach into the central mountains for a very short time.
The winter storm will create hazardous travel conditions due to snow-covered roadways, reduced visibilities (less than half-mile at times) and blowing snow. Motorists are to use caution if travel is necessary.
Winds will be 10 to 20 miles per hour with gusts of up to 30 miles per hour. Temperatures will be in the upper 20’s, according to the NWS.
