ALTOONA – The American bald eagle is breeding and thriving in Pennsylvania, thanks to a 30-year project to protect and grow the bird’s population.
Wildlife Conservation Officer William Brehun of northern Blair County will present a brand-new 20-minute video about the successful rebound of Pennsylvania’s bald eagle population, followed by a question-and-answer session.
This is just one of nearly a dozen adventure seminars offered at the four-day RV expo at the Blair County Convention Center, Altoona, from Feb. 27 through March 2.
Families are invited to plan their vacation, starting with plenty of expert advice and inspiration from RV dealers, outfitters, camping destinations and outdoor enthusiasts. Other seminar topics include the thinking sport of orienteering, eco-friendly camping, 10 things hikers need for wilderness survival and how to join in the hunt for Pennsylvania’s Bigfoot!
Attendees will see the newest styles and innovations in motor homes, fifth wheels, campers, pop-ups and outdoor vehicles, with tremendous expo-only deals and discounts. They can stop in at the Canteen for authentic camping and picnic food like barbecue and S’mores. This is central PA’s largest outdoor camping adventure show, with a display of RVs from names like Ansley, Clem’s, Lerch and Salem and camping destinations like Roaring Run Resort and Treasure Lake Cayman Landing Campground.
The expo spans 39 hours, Feb. 27 to March 2, from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Thursday to Saturday, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday at the Blair County Convention Center. There is also plenty of free parking.
