Dora M. Hampton, 88, of Morrisdale and formerly of Kylertown died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014 at the Dayspring Personal Care Home, Morrisdale.
Born Sept. 12, 1925 in Boggs Township, she was the daughter of the late Boyd and Bessie Kephart Powell. She was a member of the Lanse Evangelical Free Church.
She graduated from the Philipsburg High School. She was a member of the Kylertown Senior Citizens Center. She was a homemaker.
She was married to Lloyd C. Hampton on May 4, 1946 in Morrisdale. He survives her in Morrisdale.
Mrs. Hampton is survived by a daughter, Catherine J. Rockey and her husband, Gary of Manchester; two sons, Edward C. Hampton of Ebensburg and Thomas R. Hampton and his wife, Pamela of Morrisdale; and two brothers, Leo Powell of Chugiak, Alaska and Ronald Powell of Philipsburg.
She’s survived by grandchildren, Crystal Redding and her husband, Steve, Kimberlee Shearer and her husband, Scott, Kelly Williamson and her husband, Davey, Abby Danko and her husband, Dane and Nicole Hampton and her companion, Justin Croasmun.
Mrs. Hampton is also survived by great-grandchildren, Kiersten Hampton, Brayden Williamson, MacKenzie and Madison Redding, Austin Silver, Xavier Fackler, Katelyn and Brendan Shearer and Conner and Addyson Danko.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James Hampton; brothers, Clair, Carl and Jerry Powell; and a sister, Lillian Bambarger.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Lanse Evangelical Free Church with the Rev. Matt Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in the Messiah Baptist Cemetery, Kylertown.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of funeral services Tuesday at the church.
