Valerie Hayes, an eighth grade mathematics teacher at DuBois Area Middle School, recently received her National Board Certification in early adolescence mathematics.
She is one of only three teachers in the district who has earned this distinction and one of around 1,100 teachers in the state.
National Board Certification is earned by demonstrating the knowledge and skills needed to prepare students for success in today’s global market through a rigorous, performance-based, peer-reviewed process.
