DUBOIS – The Clear-Penn Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) met Jan. 14 at the DuBois Business College.
Topics discussed were upcoming fundraising ideas and future meetings, including the Administrative Professionals Day dinner. The dinner will be held April 23 at the Penn State campus in DuBois.
Carol Lundgren, CAP-OM, also conducted a new member orientation presentation to benefit the three new members – Randi Johnson, Carolyn Rhoads and Cathy Steiner, who recently joined Clear-Penn.
Since the presentation was done in one of the classrooms, each person had access to a computer and was able to login into the IAAP and Clear-Penn Web sites. This allowed them to learn how to navigate the Web sites and become familiar with the benefits available to them through IAAP membership.
The next meeting will be at 6 p.m. Feb. 11 at the DuBois Business College. The program will be “Understanding the Administrative Professional’s Changing Role in the Workplace,” presented by Missy Billotte. This will be a program for anyone who works as an administrative assistant. Guests are welcome to attend.
Reservations may be made by calling Peggy at 814-618-5135 or email at peggy418@outlook.com. The reservation deadline is Friday before 12 p.m. The cost is $10, which includes dinner.
Getting involved with IAAP activities provides an opportunity to develop professional and personal skills of leadership, public speaking, meeting planning and networking. All office professionals are welcome to attend any meeting. For more information about Clear-Penn, go to its Web site at www.iaap-clearpenn.org.
