BELLEFONTE — The Clearfield Area High School girls basketball team held Bellefonte scoreless in the second quarter to take a 12-7 lead into intermission, but the Lady Raiders dominated the final 16 minutes for a 35-22 Mountain League victory Friday night.
Maggie Sopic accounted for the bulk of the Lady Bison points with a game-high 12.
Coach Joey Castagnolo’s team, which was edged 27-25 at home in late December by the Lady Raiders, tumbled to 3-14 with a 1-9 league record.
Alexis Wetzler’s eight points topped the balanced Bellefonte (10-7, 6-5) offense.
In the junior varsity game, Ally Lindstrom’s 10 points led Clearfield to a 23-16 win.
The Lady Bison will play their first game in the school’s new gymnasium Tuesday when ML pace-setter Tyrone pays a visit.
